Good points. Much relates to Western European thinking and the role of the feminine in that lens. Prior to modern times, women were, in most cultures (not all), equal to men. This is often forgotten, but relates to why, in these times, the feminine is seen as (wrongly) subservient, where they weren't before and still aren't (rightly so) in some cultures. Cultural values and norms play a huge role in the way technologies are perceived.
