Human societies have a very long history of predicting societal collapse. It's an interesting aspect of our behaviours. It's always impossible to predict mass societal shifts such as this. We are in the opening phases of massive global change at a scale never before seen. I think, oddly enough, we'll manage to a better place. It'll just be messy getting there.
