While I'm not sure there ever will or can be, a true metaverse, it is a fascinating insight to an imagined future. Perhaps because, unlike ever before in human history, we no longer have physical land left to run away to and build a new sociocultural system...now we can only do it in a virtual space. That in and of itself is fascinating.
